A four foot square is a parking space for a tank

A process room where the only free floor is a corner, a car wash with a chemical alley between walls, an irrigation shed where the pump and the filter bank own the middle: that is who buys this one. The duty is a standing supply with a pump under it, and the tank's job is to hold the gallons without taking the aisle. Height pays a second dividend: liquid standing above the floor is real suction head, so a pump stays flooded deep into the load. The honest limit of a translucent wall is that light gets in, so a liquid that spoils or grows in light belongs in the black version. On the ground, 4,587 lb of water, or up to 8,715 lb at the rating, bears on a 48 inch circle, because a rotomolded floor carries on its whole area and nothing else; concentrated on that little slab it is a real bearing pressure, so the pad is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, poured level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank wherever the liquid is regulated. Seventy-five inches of empty tank at 110 lb wants restraint before the first fill, banded to structure in its upper third and checked after the first month.

Flooded suction under six feet of white wall

1. Pump. Mount it below the tank floor, on its own base, with the suction as short and straight as the room allows. The standing column is the main mechanical reason to choose this shape over a shallow one.
2. Outlet. No bottom fitting is listed on this tank. Where the draw has to come over the rim, a drop pipe to the floor with a foot valve and strainer does the job and leaves nothing below the liquid line to weep. Name the liquid and the draw-off at order and we will confirm what Snyder fits to this moulding.
3. Run-dry protection. A level switch above the floor stopping the pump.
4. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 75 inches, above head height. A step or a small platform for whoever opens it, a permanent fill line landed at the lid, a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam, and a vent run outdoors on a fuming liquid, sized to the pump doing the filling.

The other tall 550s, and the 500 and 710

Snyder also lists a 550 gallon ASTM XLPE black heavy duty tank, part number 1800000N48, the black cross-linked wall at this size; the same tall shell in other walls is the 550 gallon ASTM black heavy duty tank 1800000N51 and the 550 gallon black heavy duty tank 1800000C34, each rated on its own page. What separates them is the wall; two rows that look the same are a phone call. Off the shell, the 500 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 5780100N42 is wider, taller and heavier for a little less liquid, and the 710 gallon ASTM XLPE heavy duty tank 1700200N42 is the step up when the room can give up the floor. If the ceiling is what you are short of, none of these is the answer and a low, wide shell is.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Chowchilla, CA, 48 by 48 by 75 inches on a pallet at 110 lb, which makes it the tall 550 to pick on a West Coast lane. At the tailgate, check the part number against 1800400N42 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. Nothing rigid is bolted straight to the shell: the first valve rides on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector. Freeze protection goes on the piping, not the body.
