A tank that hides

At 46 inches the WG32 disappears behind a fence, under a raised deck or beside a downspout without a screen around it, and 4,587 pounds of water on a 64 inch circle sits low enough that no strap is needed. Snyder's 500 to 750 gallon water tanks

The WG33 is the same low 550 two inches taller. The WG34 and WB34 stand the same 550 gallons on a 48 inch base at 77 inches, in green and black, for a site with height and no floor. The 32511 is the 500 gallon doorway tank and the 32517 stands 750 gallons on that same 48 inch base at 106 inches.

Ports and manway

• Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
• Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the base.
• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

A 2 inch outlet on a low tank gives a pressure pump a flooded suction to the last few inches; a garden hose runs by gravity but slowly, because there is little head. Tee a sight tube off the outlet to read the level through the green wall, or fit a float gauge on the manway. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.

Two people carry 100 pounds, and at 64 inches across it goes through a double door or a gate. Fill it to the manway once, check both fittings, and keep a screen on the inlet and the vent. Set it where the outlet faces the pump or the hose bib, because a low tank is not easily turned once it is full. Note the pad height and the outlet height on the site plan while the tape is out; the next pipe run will need both.
