Where it goes

The site sets three conditions on this tank and the chemistry sets one. Height: 145 inches of shell plus the clear room an 18 inch manway needs above it for a fill line, a vent and a person on a platform, which is the measurement that puts this tank inside a building where a taller one has to stand outside. Slab: a rotationally moulded floor bears on its whole floor, so the 120 inch circle takes every pound of contents evenly only if the pad is level, cured and in full contact, engineered to our concrete pad sizing guide and bermed where the liquid is regulated. Wind: an empty black shell at 1,500 lb is a sail, so bands to structure or anchors cast into the slab go on the day it lands and get retensioned after the first storm and the first summer. What to check before you buy

1. The rating. 1.5 specific gravity means liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water. A brine or a concentrate belongs on the heavy duty wall in this same shell, linked below. Check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide.
2. The outlet. The product data for 7140300N46 names the manway and no base fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off at order and we confirm what the tank is supplied with before anything is drilled. The first valve sits on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
3. The headspace. The band of wall above the liquid line sees vapour rather than liquid and ages first on most chemistries; our article on wall thickness at the vapour saturated headspace explains why liquid side inspection misses it. Put a light on that band every time the manway is open.
4. The manway and vent. An 18 inch threaded vented manway at 145 inches: platform with a rail, permanent fill connection, dip tube to the floor, vent outdoors on anything that fumes and sized to the delivery pump. Temperature limit: 140 F.

A single origin means the lane length decides the freight, so run your ZIP through the freight cost estimator before the requisition is cut. Stand it with straps under the body, never a sling through the manway, onto a cured pad, and band it before the crane is released.
