Ten feet of head is all the suction you get

• Suction: the sheet lists the outlet as 28, which is a field value, not a pipe size, so no dimension is read from it. Name the liquid, the flow and the pipe material at order and the bulkhead, gasket and bolting are matched to the duty, with a flexible connector to hard pipe and the first valve carried on a stand off the pad.
• Prime: a 122 inch column is the shortest in this batch, so the pump placement stops being a preference and becomes the design. Below the outlet, close to the tank, short straight suction, and no optimistic horizontal run to a pump house across the pad.
• Low level: with less head there is less warning before a pump starts pulling air, so the low-level cutout is set with margin and wired to stop the pump. On a dense liquid a dry run costs a seal at best.
• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 122 inches up, with ladder lugs molded in. Fill down a dip tube to the floor so the stream is not splashed into the headspace, and run the vent outdoors, sized to the delivery pump.
• Service limit: 140 F / 60 C.

This sheet lists a single flange line, where most of the family lists two, so side piping has one place to go and it gets planned before the tank is set rather than after the pipe fitter arrives. The other consequence of a reachable manway is human: this is the tank people open because they can, and every opening is vapor out and weather in. Keep it closed between deliveries, name the one liquid in paint on the wall, and put a light on the band above the liquid line whenever the lid is off, because that band sees vapor and sun and never sees liquid. Where it freezes, trace or wrap the valve and the first run of pipe and leave the body to ice from the top down.

The number the carrier cares about is the 142 inch diameter: at nearly twelve feet across this rides wide rather than tall, which is a different permit and sometimes a different truck than the slim tanks in the same volume range, so give the desk the diameter first. Unloading is a crane or a loader with long forks and slings under the body, 1,900 pounds, nothing through the manway.
