The Snyder Industries 7000 Gallon Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank (SKU 5300700N42) is a full-size industrial vertical storage tank molded from crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) to ASTM standards. It holds 7,000 gallons in a Natural White shell that stands 122 inches tall on a 142 x 142 inch round footprint. If you are sizing a bulk water reservoir and shopping XLPE tanks, this is the workhorse end of the Snyder vertical line.

Will it work for your site?

Full of water, this tank carries 58,380 pounds of contents, which is the 7,000 gallons at the density of water (1.0 SG). The structure is rated to 1.9 specific gravity, so the maximum rated contents weight is 110,922 pounds, or 7,000 gallons of a liquid up to 1.9 times as dense as water. In plain terms, you can fill it to full volume with any stored liquid up to 1.9 SG, which is what marks this as a heavy-duty storage tank rather than a plain water tank. The 142-inch diameter base needs a flat, fully supporting pad, and that pad must be sized for the worst-case 110,922 lb max-rated load if you ever store a denser liquid, not just the 58,380 lb water weight. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to confirm the volume and footprint, and see our guide on concrete pad sizing for above-ground polyethylene tanks for the pad framework against that number. For reservoir-duty sizing, our fire-water reservoir tank design guide walks through NFPA 22 storage discipline.

Fittings and access

The technical drawing on this page shows the outfitted configuration: a flange, a 12" x 28" fitting with S.U.M.O. mounting, a second S.U.M.O. fitting, an 18" PE threaded and vented fitting, and a manway with 15" access for interior inspection and cleaning. The two S.U.M.O. fittings and the flange are your bulk fill and transfer points, and the 18" PE threaded/vented port is the factory atmospheric vent, so on a tank this size keep it open and sized to keep pace with your pump fill and draw rate rather than capping it. Before you order, match your bulkhead gasket and thread type to the 18" threaded/vented port and the flange, since matching the mating side is the real fitting compatibility check. Review the drawing against your plumbing and vent plan so the outlet, fill, and vent locations line up with your layout.

XLPE vs HDPE

This is a crosslinked (XLPE) tank, not standard HDPE. Crosslinking builds impact and stress-crack resistance into the wall, which matters for a large-diameter vertical storage tank holding tens of thousands of pounds. If you are weighing the two constructions, our write-up on Snyder XLPE vs HDPE explains where crosslinking earns its place.

This Snyder vertical storage tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Lincoln, Nebraska, quoted live to your ZIP by the Freight Cost Estimator.
