Bulkheads and lid

• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 177 inches up; vented outside, because hypochlorite gives off gas that corrodes everything in a closed room; dip tube on the fill, vent sized to the tanker's unload rate.
• Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for hypochlorite when ordering; a flanged transition, an expansion joint, and a valve supported off the slab, in PVC or a fluoropolymer, never brass.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

An opaque wall shows a shadow line in daylight, not a number; fit a sender read at ground level so nobody climbs for one, and a float switch at low level shuts the pump off before it runs dry. Keep the manway closed between fills, keep the tank cool and out of the sun, and label it so the fire inspector and the workplace inspector read the same thing. If winters freeze, wrap or drain the outlet valve and the first pipe run.

The tanker unload

The driver's pump can deliver faster than the manway vent can breathe, so the vent is sized for the unload rate or the fill goes through a dedicated top bulkhead with its own vent line. The fill pipe runs to the floor so the bleach does not free-fall and foam.
