At 79 inches wide the tank spans a flatbed or a gooseneck deck and sits 54 inches tall, low enough to see over from the cab of most trucks. Full, it weighs over 8600 lb with water and more with fertilizer, so the trailer's axle rating, not the tank, is usually the limit. What goes in it
Water to a remote site, liquid fertilizer to the field and the common farm chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. A 2 inch ball valve and a camlock thread straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not the weight of hardware bouncing down a farm road.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in, and to clean through. Keep the vent clear; a transport tank breathes every time the load sloshes.
