The Norwesco 1025 gallon HDPE horizontal leg tank, part number 40131, is the heavy duty version of Norwesco's 1025 gallon leg tank: high density linear polyethylene, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, with a 5 year warranty from Norwesco. It is 139 inches long, 49 inches wide and 54 inches tall and weighs 355 lb empty. The moulded legs let it sit flat on a trailer deck, a truck bed or a skid without a cradle. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco, and the service limit is 120 F. The 1.9 rating is the reason to buy this tank over the standard one: it covers dense liquid fertilizers and the heavier chemical blends that a 1.5 tank is not built for. 1025 gallons of water weighs about 8550 lb; a liquid at the full 1.9 rating weighs 15.87 lb per gallon.

On a trailer, a truck or the ground
At 139 inches long and 49 inches wide this tank is a trailer tank first. It runs the length of a tandem axle utility trailer or an applicator trailer and keeps its weight low at 54 inches tall. Norwesco calls for 4 bands on this tank when it rides on a vehicle, band part N-60057; the add-ons box on this page lists them. Strap through the leg recesses, never over the manway. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg; a tank this long bridges a dip and carries the load on the wall instead of the legs. Full of fertilizer it is a heavy load for a trailer, so check the axle and tongue ratings before the tank, not after. What goes in it

Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump and to get a hand and a brush inside.
- Bands. 4 bands required for vehicle use, part N-60057. Order them with the tank.
