Norwesco 1035 Gallon HDPE Horizontal Elliptical Leg Tank with Fittings

On a trailer or a truck

At 89 by 79 inches the tank is nearly square in plan, so it suits a flatbed, a gooseneck or a nurse trailer where a long narrow leg tank would waste the width. At 54 inches tall it keeps the load low, which matters on the road and in a field with side slopes. Full of water it is close to 8,630 lb, and with a liquid at the full 1.9 rating about 16,400 lb, so the trailer's axle and tongue ratings, not the tank, are usually the limit. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the manway, and fit the 3 bands Norwesco specifies, part N-60325, where it rides on a vehicle; we put them on the same order. What goes in it

Water and liquid fertilizer are the normal loads, with the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Blue hides the liquid level but keeps more light out than white, which slows algae in stored water. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a siphon tube, so the tank draws down close to empty through a side fitting. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean.
