A 535 gallon black elliptical leg tank that fits a pickup bed
The Norwesco 535 gallon black elliptical leg tank, part number 42353B, is a low profile polyethylene transport tank 80 inches long, 57 inches wide and 39 inches tall, weighing 149 lb empty. In a pickup bed or on a trailer
At 80 by 57 inches the tank fits lengthways in a full size pickup bed between the wheel wells only if the bed is wide enough, so measure between the wells before you order; on a flatbed or a utility trailer it drops in anywhere. At 39 inches tall it sits below the cab roof. Full of water the load is close to 4500 lb, which is more than most half ton pickups are rated to carry, so check the payload sticker on the door before the first fill. What goes in it
Stock water, spray water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. A 2 inch ball valve and camlock thread straight in. Support the valve so the fitting carries liquid, not a valve bouncing on a dirt road.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump and to clean through. Keep the vent clear so the tank can breathe as the load sloshes.
