Where a 13000 gallon heavy duty tank fits

The heavy duty tank is for liquids well above the weight of water: concentrated fertilizers, brines, treatment chemicals and process liquids between 1.5 and 1.9 specific gravity. For water, rainwater or fire reserve the standard 1.5 tank in the same shell does the job for less and is linked below. At 144 inches across and 198 inches tall the tank needs a 144 inch circle of level, continuous concrete and clear height above 198 inches to stand it up. What goes in it

Polyethylene handles water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the 1.9 rating takes weight off the list of worries. Temperature stays on it: the tank is rated to 120 F, so a warm process stream or a liquid that heats in the sun needs a check against that number. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. On a 13000 gallon tank a 2 inch outlet is a slow drain; if you pump out at volume or feed a fire pump, tell us and we quote a larger outlet with the tank. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, large enough for a fill line, a level sensor and inspection together. It is the vent, so never plug it or pipe a fill line into it without a separate vent.
3. Extra fittings. Nothing else is installed. A second outlet, a fill connection or a sight gauge is quoted with the tank if you tell us where it goes.

This is an oversize load, 198 by 144 by 144 inches and 3588 lb, carried on a flatbed from Norwesco's Albertville, Alabama plant, the only plant that builds this part number. An oversize haul is priced on miles and permits rather than weight. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the cost to your ZIP, or request a written quote for a job that needs paperwork. A tank this size comes off the truck with a crane or a large telehandler, never by dragging. At the tailgate, check 44017 against the bill of lading, walk the full circumference for transit damage, and fill with water the first time, in stages, watching the pad and the outlet.
