Where it goes

A twelve foot circle under sixteen and a half feet of tank is a permanent installation, not something you move next season. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch 316 stainless steel female NPT bolted fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. A bolted fitting clamps the wall between two flanges rather than relying on a single nut, which is why Norwesco uses it on the biggest tanks, where the wall is thickest and the head of liquid is highest. Your 3 inch valve threads straight in. Support the valve and the first run of pipe on their own; a steel valve on a 3 inch port is heavier than it looks.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top, 198 inches up: fill point, vent and a wide opening for a pump drop, a float or a cleaning crew's gear.

4. Liquid. Water and most liquid fertilizers sit inside the 1.5 specific gravity rating. For heavier liquids Norwesco makes a 1.9 rated version of this shell, listed below.
