Norwesco 1325 Gallon Black Horizontal Leg Tank

On a trailer or the ground

At 99 by 66 inches and 70 inches tall, this is a gooseneck or flatbed trailer tank, or a yard tank where a leg tank's low fill height and easy drain beat a vertical. Full of water it weighs over five tons before the trailer, so the axle and hitch ratings decide what tows it, and at 70 inches the manway is above head height on a deck, so plan the fill from a platform or through a pump. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the manway, and use the support bands Norwesco makes for this tank where it will ride on a vehicle; the add-ons box on this page lists them. On the ground, it needs a flat, continuous surface under all the legs. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Before anything else goes in, check the liquid in our chemical compatibility guide; the entries for urea solution, DEF, calcium chloride, sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid are the ones leg tank buyers ask about most. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in, and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in as you draw down; do not seal it.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Norwesco's Washington Court House, Ohio plant, 99 by 66 by 70 inches and 384 lb; it needs a forklift or a liftgate and a few people at the delivery end. At the tailgate, check the part number against 42335 on the bill of lading, look at all the legs for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
