Norwesco 1025 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Horizontal Leg Tank

Where the heavy duty rating earns its keep

Many liquid fertilizers and most concentrated treatment chemicals sit above 1.5 specific gravity, and a standard leg tank carrying them is outside its rating from the first fill. The 1.9 rating covers them with margin. The footprint is the same as the standard 1025, so it rides on the same flatbed or tandem trailer; what changes is the weight, because the same 1025 gallons can weigh over eight tons. Check the axle and hitch ratings against the liquid, not against water. A tank this long flexes on a moving deck, which is why Norwesco specifies four bands, N-60057, through the moulded leg recesses, never straps over the manway; the add-ons box on this page lists them. On the ground, it needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizer, water and the treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, to drop a float in, and to get a hand and a brush inside to clean. The vent lets air in as you draw down; do not seal it.
3. Bands. Four, part N-60057. Order them with the tank so they arrive together.
