The Norwesco 3135 gallon elliptical leg tank in black, part number 41417, is a high density linear polyethylene transport tank 150 inches long, 88 inches wide and 80 inches tall, weighing 1107 lb empty. The elliptical cross-section keeps the load low and wide on a trailer, and the moulded legs let it sit on a deck or a skid without a cradle. It comes with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet, with a 2 inch reducer so you can plumb either size, and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. On a nurse trailer, a flatbed or a skid
This is a fertilizer nurse tank size. At 150 inches long and 88 inches wide it fills a tandem-axle trailer deck, and at 80 inches tall it rides under the legal height on most decks. Full of water the contents alone weigh 26146 lb, and a heavy fertilizer at the 1.9 limit can reach 49677 lb, so the trailer's axles, tires, hitch and brakes decide the real limit, not the tank. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses, never over the manway, and use the hold-down bands made for this tank; a tank this size is never held by two ratchet straps over the top. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under all the legs. What goes in it
Liquid fertilizer is the usual load, and the 1.9 rating admits the dense blends and the suspension products a standard tank cannot carry. Water, brine and the common farm chemicals that polyethylene handles are fine too. Anything hotter than 120 F is outside the rating. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the end wall, with a 2 inch reducer. Run the full 3 inch to a transfer pump for fast unloading, or thread the reducer in for a 2 inch valve and camlock. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware bouncing down a field road.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling from a pump, a float, and cleaning access. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes as it is pumped down.
