The Norwesco 525 gallon horizontal leg tank, part number 40193, is the heavy duty version of the 525 gallon white leg tank: high density linear polyethylene, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, with a 5 year warranty from Norwesco. The tank is 49 inches in diameter, 71 inches long and 54 inches tall on its moulded legs, and weighs 159 lb empty. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. The 1.9 rating means liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water, a maximum of 15.87 lb per gallon; 525 gallons of water weighs about 4380 lb, and a full load at the rating limit is about 8320 lb. The resin is FDA compliant per Norwesco and the service limit is 120 F (48 C). White lets you see the level through the wall in daylight.

Why the heavy duty version
Two white 525 gallon leg tanks share this shell. The standard one is rated for 1.5 specific gravity with a 3 year warranty; this one is rated for 1.9 with a 5 year warranty and weighs more because the wall is thicker. Buy this one when the liquid is heavier than water by a wide margin: concentrated liquid fertilizers, brines and many treatment chemicals run well above 1.5. Buy it also when the tank will ride on a trailer or a truck for years and you want the longer warranty behind it. For plain water or a thin fertilizer, the standard 525 gallon white leg tank is the lighter and cheaper choice. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings, fittings and bands
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight in. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose, drop a float in and get a brush inside.
- Bands. Two bands are optional for this tank, band part N-60057. If the tank rides on a vehicle, band it; strap through the leg recesses, never over the manway.
