Several chemicals our buyers ask about are not rated for this 1.5 tank but are compatible in a higher 1.9 specific gravity Norwesco tank: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, and Zinc Orthophosphate. Note that many of those 1.9 acids — hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, hydrofluosilicic, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric, sodium hypochlorite, and sulfuric — call for Viton gaskets (peracetic acid uses Aflas), with CPVC or 316 stainless fittings on several, rather than the EPDM used across the 1.5 list. The mistake to avoid
The most common error on a leg tank like this is loading by gallons and ignoring the specific gravity rating. A 535-gallon load of a 1.5 specific gravity fluid is a very different weight from water, and your fittings have to match the chemistry — DEF, for example, needs 316 stainless fittings with EPDM gaskets, not the PVC you would run for aluminum sulfate.
