Where it goes
A vertical tank stands on its own flat bottom, so the pad is the installation. It needs a flat, level, continuous surface at least 102 inches across with no gravel points, drain or slope under it; full of water this tank is a concentrated load of better than 54200 lb on that circle, and much more at the full 1.9 rating. The 1.9 rating is the reason to pick this tank over the standard one: if the liquid is heavier than water, you want this wall thickness. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch reducer, factory installed low in the wall. Run 3 inch plumbing off it for a fast transfer pump, or leave the reducer in and run 2 inch. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware; on a tank this tall the head pressure at the outlet is real, so use a valve rated for it.
- Inlet. None is fitted. Fill through the manway, or tell us where you want a fill port and we will talk through the options before the order ships.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, 196 inches up, so plan a ladder or a platform to reach it. The vent is what lets the tank breathe as it fills and empties; never seal it.
