Where a sixteen foot tank makes sense

This is the 6500 for a site measured in square feet rather than headroom: a strip beside a building, a slot in a row of tanks, a corner of a yard with nothing overhead. Sixteen feet of shell has two consequences. The manway is a long way up, so plan a fixed ladder or a platform rather than a stepladder. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in it. Connect 2 inch as supplied or remove the reducer for the full 3 inch port. Decide before you buy the valve, and support the valve and the first run of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, 196 inches up. Fill point, vent and inspection opening; reach it safely or not at all.
