A pumped tank, not a gravity tank

The thing to know about 44395B is the outlet. A siphon tube draws from the top of the tank down to the floor, so there is no hole in the side wall below the liquid line. That suits a tank that feeds a pump, a tank inside a building where a side outlet leak would be a problem, or a liquid you do not want leaving the tank by gravity if a hose fails. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch reducer, on a siphon tube. Your pump suction connects here; pull the reducer for 3 inch or leave it for 2 inch. Prime the line the first time, and support the pipe and pump independently of the tank.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for the fill line, a float and cleaning access. Keep the vent open; a pump drawing on a sealed tank pulls the wall in.
3. Heavier liquids. This is the 1.5 tank. Fertilizer and chemicals heavier than 1.5 times water belong in the heavy duty version linked below.
4. Clearance. 187 inches tall plus the manway lid and the lifting gear.
