Why the heavy duty wall, and the squat shape
At 141 inches across and 146 inches tall the tank is nearly as wide as it is high, which keeps the head pressure at the outlet lower than a tall tank of the same volume and makes it the pick for a building with a low roof or a site with a height limit. The 1.9 rating is the reason to buy it over the standard tank: a 1.5 tank filled with a heavier liquid is overstressed at the bottom of the wall, where the pressure is greatest. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall, shipped with a 2 inch reducer in it. Pull the reducer for a 3 inch valve and fast transfer, or leave it in for a 2 inch valve. Support the valve and the first pipe run separately from the tank.
- Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top for the fill line, a level sensor and inspection. Keep the vent open.
