A plant whose roof stops the eighteen foot tank gets this one: sixteen feet of tank still leaves room for a platform and a vent line under most tall bays, and the ten foot circle is the same floor. Connections on a tanker-sized tank
- Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; tell us the liquid when ordering and the fitting is matched to it, with a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad in the material the chemical calls for.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 194 inches up; a platform with a rail for anyone who opens it. Fill through a dip tube to the floor, vent outside on anything that fumes, and size the vent for the delivery pump, because a tanker's pump moves air faster than a stock vent passes it.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Sixteen feet of liquid above a 3 inch outlet is a strong flooded suction, and the outlet drains a full tank in a working shift; a pump mounted below the outlet primes by gravity, and a float at low level protects it from running dry. Vapor loss is the manway's job to prevent, so it stays shut; the label names the one chemical; and the inspection is a light on the headspace wall, not the wetted one. The body takes a freeze from the top down without damage; the outlet valve and the first pipe run do not, so they get trace heat or insulation where it freezes.
Who buys the 8,900
Bulk coagulant or caustic at a water plant, brine at a food plant, liquid fertilizer at a co-op, and process chemical at a plant that buys most of a tanker at a time and stores in the open.
