The Norwesco 9000 gallon light blue heavy duty vertical liquid storage tank, part number 43620, is a flat bottom polyethylene tank 141 inches in diameter and 146 inches tall, weighing 1870 lb empty. Where the wide, short shape fits
Inside a treatment building, under a canopy at a fertilizer dealer, in a plant bay with a crane rail overhead: anywhere 9000 gallons is wanted but a taller tank will not go. The cost of the low height is a 141 inch footprint, so the pad is bigger and the door it comes through needs the width. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the treatment and process chemicals that polyethylene handles. The 1.9 rating covers the dense blends and brines a standard tank is not built for. Keep the contents under 120 F. If you are not sure a chemical belongs in polyethylene, tell us the name and the concentration before you order.
Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in the box. Keep 3 inch for a pump suction or a fast gravity draw; reduce to 2 inch where the plumbing already is. Support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the wall carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top. The extra width over the smaller tanks' manway makes cleaning and inspection easier on a tank this wide; keep it threaded down so the tank breathes through the vent.
- Extra fittings. A second outlet, a sight gauge port or a side fill fitting can go on the same order; tell us before it ships.
