Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall, with a 2 inch reducer in it. Connect 2 inch as supplied, or remove the reducer for the full 3 inch port and a faster drain. Decide before you buy the valve, and support the valve and the first run of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top. The larger opening makes a pump drop, a float or a cleaning job easier than the smaller manway on the tanks below this size. At 146 inches up it is a stepladder reach for most people.
