The Norwesco 925 Gallon Horizontal Leg Tank in white is built for mobile and stationary liquid handling where the load has to ride low and stay put. Molded from polyethylene with integrated support legs, this horizontal leg tank carries a 925-gallon working capacity and a 1.5 specific gravity rating, which is the number that determines what you can actually haul in it. Full of plain water it weighs about 7,714 lb; at its maximum rated contents the tank and liquid weigh roughly 11,572 lb. That 3,858 lb spread is your SG headroom - at 1.5 SG you are carrying about 50% more mass than water, so on a haul tank the trailer axle rating and tie-down capacity, not the tank itself, become the limiting factor. Spec the loaded number, not the empty shell.

Will it work for your application

The 1.5 SG rating means this Norwesco horizontal tank holds any liquid up to 1.5 times the density of water. Water (SG 1.0) and most ag liquids fall comfortably under that ceiling, so you have real headroom for fertilizer blends and similar field chemistry. The horizontal leg design keeps the center of gravity low for transport on a trailer or applicator frame, and the white polyethylene lets you eyeball the liquid level at a glance. For help matching gallons to your job, run the Tank Sizing Calculator or read the Tank Sizing Guide. Confirm outlet size and fitting layout with us at 866-418-1777 before you build your mount, and check the technical drawing on this page for dimensional detail.

Chemical compatibility

This is a polyethylene leg tank rated to 1.5 specific gravity. At the 1.5 SG rating, the following are workable when paired with the right hardware, per the OEM chemical-resistance chart at the listed concentration and temperature: acetic acid at 60% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), aluminum sulfate at 50% (PVC, EPDM), calcium chloride at 40% (PVC, EPDM), DEF at 32.5% - which needs 316 stainless fittings, not PVC - ferrous sulfate at 20% (PVC, EPDM), magnesium chloride at 30% (PVC, EPDM), sodium carbonate at 30% (PVC, EPDM), and urea solution at 50% (PP/PVC, EPDM). Ozonated water up to 10 PPM (PVC, EPDM) is also workable, but it has no compatibility page yet - confirm it with us before loading. Always verify against the manufacturer's chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature, since both shift the rating.

Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank

Several heavier liquids exceed what a 1.5 SG tank should carry and require a 1.9 specific gravity tank instead - do not run them in this one. Those include ethylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium hypochlorite, sodium thiosulfate, sulfuric acid, and zinc orthophosphate. On a 1.9 SG-rated Norwesco tank these also step up the gasket spec - Viton on the acids and sodium hypochlorite, Aflas on peracetic acid - which is a separate call from the tank rating. The single most common and most expensive mistake on a leg tank is matching the SG rating to the wrong fluid: check density first, then the chart. See the full chemical compatibility reference for fitting and gasket detail.

This Norwesco horizontal leg tank ships LTL freight from Norwesco's Lancaster, OH or Mississippi plant, whichever is closer to your ZIP, with the cost quoted live - get your number from the Freight Cost Estimator or call us at 866-418-1777. If you are spec'ing a fertilizer applicator or non-roadable trailer setup, read Norwesco Applicator and Leg Tanks for Fertilizer and the guide on fertilizer-blend tank stratification before you load.
