Rectangular Tanks
Rectangular Tanks — Comprehensive Catalog
Rectangular polyethylene tanks deliver maximum capacity-per-square-foot in narrow alcoves, service closets, equipment rooms, and pickup beds where cylindrical tanks won't fit. The right-angle geometry stores 27% more fluid in the same footprint as an equivalent-volume cylindrical tank. Catalog covers Norwesco, Snyder Industries, Chem-Tainer, Enduraplas, and Bushman rectangular SKUs from 25-gallon utility through 1,000-gallon commercial.
Applications
- Pickup-bed transport (square footprint maximizes bed usage)
- Pest Control Operator (PCO) service tanks — fits behind cab between wheel wells
- Narrow-alcove residential and commercial water storage
- Industrial flat-bottom holding where floor space is the constraint
- Battery / process bath service — square geometry simplifies rack design
Compliance & Standards
Typically rotomolded to ASTM D1998; FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 resin compliance varies by model (see each product's Specifications). Rectangular tanks experience higher hoop stress per gallon than cylindrical tanks of equal capacity — wall thickness is increased to compensate, which is why rectangular tanks weigh more per gallon. Confirm SG rating against your fluid; never exceed.
Engineering & Selection
Three factors drive rectangular tank selection. (1) Flat-bottom support: rectangular tanks must sit on a full-footprint flat surface — never on a partial pad or uneven floor. (2) Top-fill geometry: most rectangular tanks have a lid or manway on the top short axis — verify orientation against your fill plumbing. (3) Outlet location: usually a sidewall fitting near the bottom; confirm height above floor for gravity drain or pump suction.
Freight & Delivery
Tanks ship LTL motor freight from the closest stocking warehouse to your delivery ZIP. Typical transit 5–10 business days. Liftgate available at delivery (per-shipment fee). Always inspect at delivery and note damage on the bill of lading before signing — that is the carrier claim trigger. Bulk-order consolidation reduces per-tank freight 25–40%. Get your LTL freight quote by ZIP, or call 866-418-1777 for same-business-day quoted pricing.
Sizing & Selection
Measure your alcove or pickup-bed footprint first, then pick the largest capacity that fits with 1" clearance on each side. Sidewall fittings can be specified for left, right, or front. 866-418-1777.
