Snyder Industries 1000 Gallon ASTM XLPE Vertical Storage Tank

One fill point, one gauge, one draw-off

When a plant is running a light solution out of four or five totes, restacking them with a forklift and keeping two half-empty because nobody knows which is which, the thing that replaces the whole arrangement is a single 1,000 gallon vessel. That is who buys this tank: a small food or beverage plant on clean-in-place solution, a car wash or laundry on dilute detergent, a manufacturing line on process or rinse water, a nursery on a light feed solution, a rural system on hauled water. The 1.5 rating covers everything on that list; the heavy duty version of this shell is worth the difference only when the liquid is dense.

What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded floor bears on its whole floor, so 8,340 lb of water, or 12,510 lb at the rating, lands on a 60 inch circle. Engineer the slab with our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact.
2. Restraint. An empty 260 lb shell 89 inches tall is light enough for wind to move. Bands to structure or anchors in the slab go on the day it lands; check them after the first storm.
3. The pump. Mount it below the outlet so the standing column primes it, keep the suction short and straight, and fit a low-level float.
4. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the bottom fitting, its size and material before anything is cut. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
5. Fill and vent. A dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and foam, the vent sized to the delivery pump, and a permanent fill line at the manway so the bulk delivery is a hose coupling at ground level, not a climb.

Carry everything the pump touches on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe, left slack, because a warm liquid moves this wall more than a cold one.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Chowchilla, CA plant, 60 by 60 by 89 inches at 260 lb. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Two people and a pallet jack move it, straps under the body and never through the manway, onto the cured pad. Check the part number against 1831000N40 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, walk the base twice, and drain it before the working liquid arrives.
