The Snyder Industries 1200 Gallon vertical storage tank is built for standing water storage where a stout wall is worth paying for. Molded in black crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) and rated to 1.9 specific gravity, it stands 109 inches tall on a 60 x 60 inch footprint, so plan your pad and overhead clearance around a tank that is over nine feet to the top. This is a heavy-duty vertical tank for rural fire-water reserve, process and bulk water storage, rainwater collection, and agricultural supply.

Will this tank work for your site

The numbers you need for a pad and a pump are here. Filled with water, this tank carries roughly 10,008 pounds of contents, but the wall is rated to hold up to 19,015 pounds at its full 1.9 specific gravity rating. That means the tank is engineered for denser-than-water fluids, not just the ~8.34 pounds per gallon of plain water. That 1.9 rating and the crosslinked wall are why this Snyder tank costs more than a garden-variety storage tank: XLPE resists stress-cracking and impact better than standard HDPE, so the tank has real headroom above plain water duty. If you are still deciding on volume, run your numbers through the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit to the 60-inch footprint. Our guide on Snyder XLPE vs HDPE explains when the crosslinked wall earns its keep, and the Captor freeboard sizing guide covers ASTM D1998 freeboard and thermal-expansion math when you are filling to that higher density.

Fittings and access

Per the technical drawing on this page, this tank is configured with a flange fitting, an 18-inch PE threaded and vented fitting, and a manway with 15-inch access for interior reach during cleaning or inspection. The vented fitting matters on a fill-and-draw tank: it lets the tank breathe as the level rises and falls so it neither pressurizes on fill nor pulls a vacuum on draw. Confirm the fitting layout and elevations against the drawing before you set your inlet and outlet plumbing, since a vertical tank this tall benefits from a gravity outlet placed to drain the way you intend.

Sizing it right for fire-water and cold climates

If this is a fire-water reservoir, size the usable volume around your draft requirement, not just the nameplate 1200 gallons. Our fire-water reservoir design guide walks through NFPA 22 sizing discipline and freeze protection for cold-climate service. For the pad itself, size to the rated maximum: at 1.9 specific gravity a loaded tank can reach roughly 19,015 pounds, not the ~10,008 pound water case, so design the concrete base to the worst case. See our concrete pad sizing framework before you pour.
