The size a plant buys when the drum rack stops working

A thousand gallons is a weekly or fortnightly delivery into a vessel drawn down steadily: a coagulant or polymer feed at a small treatment plant, an acid or caustic supply at a plating shop or bottling line, an inhibitor at a utility, a concentrate at a blending operation, a dense agricultural solution at a co-op that mixes on site. The heavy duty rating is what makes that list possible. At 89 inches tall on a 60 inch footprint the tank fits inside a building, inside a curb, and leaves an aisle; confirm the ceiling with a tape, because the fill line and vent sit above the manway.

What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 8,340 lb of water, or 15,846 lb at the rating, lands on a 60 inch circle. Pour the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside containment sized to the tank.
2. Restraint. 300 lb of empty shell 89 inches tall moves in wind. Band it to structure or slab anchors the day it lands and check the bands after the first storm.
3. The pump. Put the metering pump below the outlet and let the standing column prime it. A dense feed is unforgiving of a starved suction, so keep the line short and straight, fit a low-level cut-out, and give a diaphragm pump a calibration column it can be proved against.
4. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Name the chemical and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the fitting, its size, material and gasket before anything is cut. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
5. Fill and vent. A dip tube to the floor so a dense liquid does not cascade and coat the headspace; the vent run outdoors and sized to the delivery pump.

Everything the pump connects to is carried on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.

The same shell in other walls, and the sizes either side

The 1,000 gallon XLPE tank is the lighter-rated white wall for liquids near the weight of water. In black, for liquids that fade in daylight, there is the 1,000 gallon black XLPE tank and the 1,000 gallon black heavy duty tank. For a corner too tight for this one, the 850 gallon black heavy duty vertical tank stands on a narrower base; for a low ceiling with floor to spare, the 1,100 gallon heavy duty vertical tank is wide and low. Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Chowchilla, CA plant, 60 by 60 by 89 inches at 300 lb. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Bring it off the trailer on the pallet, straps under the body and never a sling through the manway, and set it on the cured pad inside the containment in one move. Check the part number against 1831000N42 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, walk the base and the containment floor twice, and dry the tank completely before any chemical arrives.
