Snyder Industries 1100 Gallon ASTM XLPE Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

A dense liquid under a low ceiling, with the level in view

Pump rooms with pipe racks overhead, mezzanines, mobile skids, greenhouses under a low eave, batching areas where the recipe depends on knowing what is left: this is the shape those sites can accept, the heavy duty wall lets them store a dense liquid in it, and the white wall lets them read it without instruments. At 55 inches the manway opens from the ground. The price is floor: walk the route from the dock to the pad with a tape before you order. White belongs indoors or under a roof; outdoors it grows algae in water service.

What to check before you buy

1. The pad. 9,174 lb of water, or 17,431 lb at the rating, bears on the whole 86 inch floor, and a wide floor finds a low corner a narrow one would bridge. Pour to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated.
2. Restraint. At 210 lb empty a wide, short tank will still walk across a slab in a gust. Band it to structure or anchors the day it lands.
3. The outlet. This tank carries an Outlet entry of "9" with no unit, thread or material beside it, and we do not read that as a pipe size. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the fitting, its size and material before anything is cut. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.
4. Fill and vent. Fill through a dip tube to the floor; bottom filling keeps foam and film off the inside of a translucent wall, which is what stops you reading the level through it. The manway vent sits at 55 inches where spray and dust reach it; size it to the delivery pump and keep the screen clear.
5. Headspace. Leave freeboard for expansion at the 140 F limit and mark the fill line on the outside of the wall.

Set the pump below the outlet with a low-level float, and carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.

Snyder sells this 86 by 55 inch footprint under more than one part number. Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from Snyder's Marked Tree, AR plant, 86 by 86 by 55 inches at 210 lb. The class follows the footprint, not the weight. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Never a strap through the manway. Check the part number against 8120000N42 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, and look for daylight between the slab and the tank edge.
