A 1,100 gallon double wall chemical tank on a 76 inch base
The Snyder 5470000N52 is a double wall chemical storage tank: an 1,100 gallon white high density linear polyethylene primary rated for a specific gravity of 1.9, or 17,431 pounds of contents against 9,174 for water, standing inside its own secondary shell 76 inches across and 104 inches tall, weighing 650 pounds. It is the tank for a regulated chemical where a berm is not practical: the containment travels with the tank, and the 76 inch base fits a chemical room corner where a berm would take the whole room. An 18 inch threaded, vented manway on the primary, and a 3 year warranty.
Two ways to buy. Add it to your cart above with freight quoted to your ZIP, or request a written quote for a job that needs paperwork.
Containment that ships on the truck
A single wall tank of regulated chemical needs a berm sized to its volume, and a berm is concrete, a sump, a drain valve that must stay closed, and a rain problem. A double wall tank carries its containment inside the outer shell, so the tank can stand inside an occupied building where a spill must never reach a floor drain; the SPCC 40 CFR 112 compliance walkthrough covers where a double wall tank satisfies a spill plan on its own. The list below is the resin's rated chemistry; check the liquid at its concentration in the chemical compatibility database, because weight rating and chemical resistance are separate properties. The two 1,100 gallon vertical tank buyers guides (second guide) compare the single wall tanks at this volume, which is the right comparison only if a berm is already in place. The tank sizing calculator sizes the volume to feed rate and delivery interval.
Resins and shapes in the double wall line
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5470000N52 (this tank) | 1,100 | 76 x 104 in | 650 lb |
| 5470000N30 (sulfuric grade) | 1,100 | 76 x 104 in | 650 lb |
| 5470000N48 | 1,100 | 76 x 104 in | 650 lb |
| 5990102N30 (low profile) | 1,000 | 81 x 69 in | 500 lb |
| 5990302N30 (low profile) | 1,500 | 93 x 76 in | 950 lb |
The N30 is the same shell in the sulfuric acid grade, and the N48 is another resin option at the same weight. The low profile double walls are the alternatives for a room without height: the 5990102N30 at 69 inches for 1,000 gallons, 35 inches shorter on a base 5 inches wider, and the 5990302N30 at 76 inches for 1,500 gallons.

Openings and the interstice
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway on the primary, 104 inches up; vent outside on anything that fumes, fill through a dip tube.
- Outlet: through both walls together, with the transition supported off the floor; specify the fitting for the chemical when ordering.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Two levels to watch: the primary, with a sender chosen for the chemical per the level gauge selection guide, and the interstitial space, which is the leak alarm and gets a float or conductivity switch, a look into the port each shift, and a logged check each week. Anything found in the space is a primary leak, and the tank comes out of service that day. Strap the empty tank; a 76 inch base under 104 inches of dense liquid has a high center of gravity. The tank sizing guide covers the reserve between deliveries.
In service
Hypochlorite, caustic and coagulant storage at water systems that cannot build a berm, chemical storage inside occupied buildings, and any regulated liquid at a site an inspector visits. One chemical per tank, labeled for both inspectors at once, manway closed against vapor loss.
Freight and unloading
At 104 inches long on the deck the 5470000N52 ships as oversize freight (NMFC 156600) at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator prices it for your ZIP, and the listed price is before freight. A liftgate and a pallet jack handle 650 pounds. Water-test the primary, confirm the interstice stays dry through the hold, then drain and dry before the first chemical delivery. The first fill is the only cheap time to find a problem, so do it in daylight with someone watching the base.
