The N52 is the general chemical grade in the same shell, for caustic, ferric and alum; the N42 is cross-linked polyethylene for oxidizers and warm liquids. Openings, instruments, interstice
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway on the primary, 104 inches up; vent it outside through a line the acid mist cannot corrode, and fill through a dip tube to the floor.
- Outlet: through both walls together, with an acid-rated transition supported off the floor; specify the fitting when ordering.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C; a tank that receives acid warm from a tanker or from dilution is watched against that limit.
Choose the level sender for sulfuric specifically with the level gauge selection guide; wetted parts rule out most standard senders, and a non-contact radar unit on the manway is the usual answer. The interstitial space is the leak alarm: a float or conductivity switch, a look into the port each shift, a logged check each week, and anything found there takes the tank out of service that day. Nothing is stacked against the outer shell, nothing is bolted through it, and the space is never used to store anything.
