The Snyder Industries 1100 Gallon Vertical Water Storage Tank (SII-WG43) is a green polyethylene vertical tank built for bulk water storage where a stable, large-footprint reservoir matters. It holds 1100 gallons, stands 53 inches tall, and sits on an 86 x 86 inch footprint. At 53 inches of height over an 86-inch base, this is a short, wide tank — height less than three-quarters of its diameter — which keeps the center of gravity low and reduces the overturning moment under wind and partial-fill sloshing compared to a tall, narrow tank of the same volume. That makes it well suited to exposed rural pads and fire-reserve installs. It is rated to a specific gravity of 1.0, meaning it is engineered for water and water-density contents, not heavier chemical service.

Will this tank work for your site

This is a vertical storage tank sized for properties that need real volume without a tall silhouette. Filled to capacity with water, it carries roughly 9,174 pounds of contents — that full water weight is what your pad and ground prep have to support, so plan the slab accordingly. The 86 x 86 inch footprint defines the pad you need; an above-ground polyethylene tank of this weight wants a level, properly sized concrete pad, and our concrete pad sizing guide walks through the ACI framework for getting that right. If you are still settling on volume, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match capacity to demand before you commit.

Fittings and outlets

The tank comes configured with polypropylene bulkhead fittings — a 1-1/2 inch and a 2 inch, both with EPDM gaskets and textured sealing surfaces — for plumbing your fill and draw lines. It also includes a flange connection and an additional bulkhead penetration; the size and elevation of those are called out on the technical drawing on this page, so verify them against your plumbing layout before you set the tank. Up top it carries an 18 inch polyethylene manway with an integrated 4 inch vent and tie-down, giving you inspection and cleanout access. Keep that 4 inch vent clear in service: it is what admits and releases air during fill and draw-down, and a blocked vent can pull a vacuum on the tank during rapid draw.

Fluid compatibility and sealing

The elastomer that wets your fluid at every penetration is EPDM — the gasket material on both bulkhead fittings. EPDM is well suited to water and water-density aqueous service, which reinforces what the 1.0 specific-gravity wall rating already tells you: keep this tank on water and water-like contents. Petroleum, oils, and many hydrocarbons are incompatible with EPDM and would call for a different seal material as well as a higher-density tank, so this is not a candidate for those media. If you need to store something heavier or chemically aggressive, a higher-SG-rated unit is the right call — pair the Tank Sizing Calculator with a quick call to 866-418-1777 and we will spec the correct tank and elastomer for your contents.

New-install acceptance

Before you put this tank into service, a hydrostatic fill test confirms the fittings seal and lets you monitor the pad for settlement under full load. Our hydrostatic test methodology guide covers the fill discipline and hold-time math. For fire-reserve or reuse-storage applications, our fire-water reservoir design and industrial water reuse topology guides cover those use cases in depth.

This tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Marked Tree, Arkansas. Because freight on a unit this size is rated by distance and destination, get an exact number for your ZIP with our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 and we will quote it for you. Listed price is before freight, which is quoted separately to your delivery ZIP.
