1,100 gallons under a 53 inch ceiling, with a bolted outlet
The Snyder WG44 is a low profile green water tank: 1,100 gallons in high density linear polyethylene, 86 inches across and 53 inches tall, 210 pounds empty. It is the tank for the crawl space, the under-deck cistern and the barn with a low header, and it comes with a 2 inch stainless steel bolted outlet rather than a threaded bulkhead, which is the fitting to have when hard pipe or a pump manifold hangs off the tank. Rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, water and liquids no heavier, with a 3 year warranty.

A tank that hides
Fifty-three inches is below a standard deck, below most crawl space joists and below the sill of a barn window, so this tank goes where a vertical cylinder cannot. Green helps it disappear against planting, and green blocks light like black does, so the water stays clear of algae. The trade is a seven foot circle of floor in full contact with a level pad; full, the WG44 carries 9,174 pounds, and the concrete pad sizing guide covers the slab or compacted base for a wide, shallow load. The tank sizing calculator checks the gallons against your draw.
The 86 inch low profile family and the tall alternatives
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| WG44 (this tank, green, bolted outlet) | 1,100 | 86 x 53 in | 210 lb |
| WG42, green, threaded outlet | 1,100 | 86 x 53 in | 210 lb |
| WB42, black | 1,100 | 86 x 53 in | 210 lb |
| 32523, tall | 1,000 | 60 x 89 in | 157 lb |
| 32535, tall | 1,300 | 60 x 114 in | 194 lb |
The WG42 is this tank with a threaded polypropylene outlet instead of the bolted one, for a tank that is filled and left alone; the WB42 is the black version. The 60 inch tanks are the same water stood up: the 32523 is 36 inches taller on a base 26 inches narrower for 100 fewer gallons, and the 32535 reaches 114 inches for 200 more. Pick by the room, not the volume.

Outlet, inlet and lid
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene fitting with a stainless steel bolted flange, at the base; re-check the bolts after the first full fill.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, at chest height on a 53 inch tank.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
A bolted outlet holds a rigid pipe, a heavy valve or a pump suction without working the tank wall the way a threaded bulkhead can, which is why the WG44 is the low tank people plumb a booster pump straight into. Level on a low tank is easy: a sight tube off the outlet or a float gauge through the lid.
Where a low 1,100 gallon tank goes
Under a deck as a rain cistern, in a crawl space as a well buffer, along a fence line as stock water, and as one unit of a rural fire reserve of the kind the fire-water reservoir design guide describes. Several of them plumbed together are a reuse train for roof water and condensate, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article. The tank sizing guide turns 1,100 gallons into days of supply.
Freight for a wide, light tank
At 86 inches across the WG44 is still LTL freight (NMFC 156600-01), palletized, at a class rate the freight cost estimator shows for your ZIP; the listed price is before freight. Two people walk 210 pounds off a liftgate. Set it, plumb the bolted outlet, and fill in stages per the hydrostatic test methodology guide, then torque the flange bolts once more. Save the pallet; a tank that ever has to move again is easier to move on it.
