The Snyder Industries 32060-BLACK is a 1200 gallon vertical storage tank in black polyethylene, 86 inches in diameter and 56.5 inches tall, weighing 315 lb empty. The wall is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, meaning liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water, which covers water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals. Why a short 1200 gallon tank
At 56.5 inches tall, the manway sits at about chest height. An operator fills it, looks inside and cleans it from the floor, with no ladder and no platform. It fits under a low roof, a mezzanine, a canopy or a shed where a taller tank of the same volume will not. The trade is floor space: an 86 inch circle, so measure the door or the opening it has to come through as well as the room.
A 1.5 specific gravity wall is the standard choice for water and the lighter solutions. If your liquid is denser than 1.5 times water, choose the heavy duty version below instead. Openings and fittings
- Manway. A 20 inch threaded vented manway on top: wide enough to fill from a hose or a pump, drop in a float and reach in to clean.
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a siphon tube, which lets the outlet draw liquid from low in the tank. Your valve threads straight into the fitting; support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Level. A black wall hides the liquid line, so plan on a gauge if you need to read it from the floor.
