The green 12,000 gallon tank
The Snyder 32078 is the green version of the 12,000 gallon vertical water tank: 142 inches across, 196.5 inches tall, high density linear polyethylene, 2,075 pounds empty, the same mold and the same wall as the black 32076. Green is the color chosen for potable water tanks standing in the open, where the tank should read as clean water and blend into a landscape. It is rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, holds 100,080 pounds when full, and carries a 26 inch threaded vented manway, a 1-1/2 inch polypropylene inlet and a 2 inch polypropylene outlet.

Green versus black at this size
Both colors block the light that grows algae. Black absorbs more heat, which matters little in a tank holding 100,000 pounds of water because the mass changes temperature slowly. The reason people choose green for a tank this visible is what it says: a green tank beside a house or a school is drinking water, and a black one next to it is not. If the water is for irrigation, stock or fire only, the black 32076 does the same job at the same weight and on the same pad.
Getting a 196.5 inch tank onto the site
The tank is taller than most single-story eaves, so the path in is the first thing to survey: overhead lines, the reach of the crane or telehandler, and the swing radius to set 2,075 pounds down on the slab without dragging it. Once it is standing, the 26 inch manway is reached from a ladder or a platform, which is one more reason to plumb the fill line to the 1-1/2 inch top inlet and leave the manway for inspection. Put a full-port valve on the 2 inch outlet before the pump, with a union between them, so the pump can be serviced without draining 12,000 gallons. If the tank feeds a booster, size the suction line to the outlet and keep it short.
On the 142 inch floor
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| WG101, green | 10,500 | 142 x 170 in | 2,490 lb |
| 32076, black | 12,000 | 142 x 196.5 in | 2,075 lb |
| 32078 (this tank) | 12,000 | 142 x 196.5 in | 2,075 lb |
The green WG101 is the alternative at 10,500 gallons: 26.5 inches shorter, 415 pounds heavier in the wall. Choose the WG101 when the site cannot take a 196.5 inch tank or when the extra wall is worth 1,500 fewer gallons; choose this tank when the gallons are the point. Both share the 142 inch pad, so a site poured for one can take the other later.

Foundation and venting
One hundred thousand pounds on a 142 inch circle needs a reinforced, level slab in full contact with the whole floor, sized by the ACI 360R-10 method in the concrete pad sizing guide. The manway vent has to move the air displaced by 12,000 gallons on fill and draw-down, so keep it clear and size the vent to the pump. Service limit is 120 F / 48 C. Confirm the volume against your draw with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
What it stores
Community or ranch drinking water, a private fire reserve laid out per the fire-water reservoir design guide, rainwater at the scale of a large roof, and the raw water block of a reuse train described in the industrial water reuse topology guide. For a level reading, the level gauge selection guide covers the sensor types that work on a poly wall.
Delivery
Oversize freight (NMFC 156600), flatbed, quoted by lane through the freight cost estimator; the listed price is before freight. Plan the crane for 2,075 pounds and 196.5 inches of length, and a route to the pad with the overhead clearance to match. First fill in stages, per the hydrostatic test methodology guide, watching the slab as the load comes on.
