Snyder Industries 1300 Gallon ASTM Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

The high density heavy wall in the 1,300 gallon shell

This is the heavy duty tank for a dense liquid that does not need a crosslinked resin: a dense fertilizer or micronutrient solution at a co-op, a brine at a softening skid, a coagulant standing outdoors at a treatment plant, a dense polymer between deliveries. The 1.9 rating carries the weight; the black wall keeps daylight off it. The service limit is 120 F, lower than the crosslinked walls in this shell, so a liquid that arrives hot wants one of those instead. What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 10,842 lb of water, or 20,600 lb at the rating, lands on a 72 inch circle. Pour the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank where the liquid is regulated.
2. Restraint. 320 lb of empty shell 87 inches tall is a sail. Band it to structure or slab anchors the day it lands and check the bands after the first storm and at the end of the first summer, because a black wall in the sun grows a little every warm day.
3. The pump. A liquid at the top of this rating is heavier per gallon than water, so set the pump below the outlet where the standing column floods the suction, keep the suction short and one size generous, and wire a low-level cut-out. Black hides the level, so a sender is part of the install.
4. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Name the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the fitting, its size, material and gasket before anything is drilled. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
5. Fill and vent. A dip tube to the floor so a dense liquid does not cascade and coat the headspace; the vent piped outdoors and sized to the delivery pump.

For a hot liquid or a chemical that needs the crosslinked resin, the 1,300 gallon heavy duty XLPE tank is this rating in natural white. For liquids near the weight of water, the 1,300 gallon black XLPE tank and the 1,300 gallon XLPE tank are the lighter-rated walls. For a tight aisle and a high ceiling, the 1,200 gallon XLPE vertical tank is narrower and taller; for a low roof and a wide pad, the 1,500 gallon black heavy duty vertical tank. Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Chowchilla, CA plant, 72 by 72 by 87 inches at 320 lb, upright in a standard trailer. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Take it off with a strap under the body, never through the manway. Check the part number against 1830400N51 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, walk the base, and dry the tank before a dense chemical goes near it.
