Dark storage without paying for wall you will not use

Harvested rainwater that would green up in a pale tank. Reclaimed wash water at a truck shop. Irrigation supply in a field corner. A light feed solution at a nursery or dairy. Stock water hauled to a yard. Every one of those is close to the weight of water, so a heavy wall buys nothing, and every one is better off out of the light. That is the whole case for this tank. If your liquid is a chemical rather than water, this is the plain polyethylene wall, not the crosslinked one; settle the wall with us before the order.

What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 10,842 lb of water, or 16,263 lb at the rating, lands on a 72 inch circle. Engineer the slab with our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact.
2. Restraint. 290 lb of empty black tank 87 inches tall in an open field is a sail. Bands or cables to structure or deadmen go on before the first fill; check them after the first storm and at the end of the first summer.
3. The pump. Set it below the outlet so the standing column keeps it primed, with a strainer ahead of the suction and a float switch so a pump left running on an empty tank does not burn out overnight.
4. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Tell us the draw-off you want and we will confirm the bottom fitting, its size and material before anything is cut. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
5. Fill and vent. A dip tube to the floor so the stream does not free-fall and aerate; the vent screened against insects and kept clear.

Black hides the level, so a sender, a gauge or a float is part of the install. Carry the first valve on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe, and where the site freezes, trace that piping and the first valve; the body ices from the top down without harm.

For a chemical duty the crosslinked walls in this shell are the right conversation: the 1,300 gallon black XLPE tank at this rating, the 1,300 gallon XLPE tank in natural white, and the 1,300 gallon heavy duty XLPE tank for dense liquids. Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's Chowchilla, CA plant, 72 by 72 by 87 inches at 290 lb. Price the lane to your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. Straps under the body, never a sling through the manway, set it once on the cured pad, and band it before anybody walks away. Check the part number against 1830400N49 on the bill of lading, then fill with water to the manway, hold it, and walk the base twice looking for movement or a weep.
