Snyder lists the black heavy-wall 1,500 twice, under two part families, and the sheet separates them by plant and weight: this one at 270 pounds from Marked Tree, the 1770000C34 at 260 from the other plants. The shell is the same 86 by 72 inches, the rating is the same 1.9, the fittings are the same; the sheet gives both weights and we print what it says. The reason to order this one is where it leaves from. A tank that ships out of Arkansas reaches the Gulf, Texas, the Midwest and the Southeast on a short lane, and on a tank this size the lane is a real part of the cost. The shape is the other half of the argument. Six feet tall on a seven foot base, it goes under a low roof, a lean-to or a mezzanine, the manway is reached without a step, and its center of gravity is the lowest of any 1,500 Snyder molds, so it wants the least against wind. Sizing the vent before the outlet

• Vent: the 18 inch manway is vented, and the vent is the first fitting to size on a tank that is filled from a truck. Six feet of liquid above a 2 inch outlet is a flooded suction to the last few inches; a pump at the level of the outlet primes by gravity, and a low-level float shuts it down before it draws air.
