1,550 gallons of chemical storage on a 64 inch base
The Snyder 1840000N45 is a white high density linear polyethylene vertical chemical storage tank, 64 inches in diameter and 124 inches tall, holding 1,550 gallons at 335 pounds. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.9, or 24,561 pounds of contents against 12,927 for water, so it holds concentrated treatment chemicals rather than rain, on the narrowest base Snyder puts this volume on: a five foot circle with ten feet of column above it. An 18 inch threaded, vented manway on top, and a 3 year warranty.

Tall and narrow, in chemical service
A 64 inch base fits a chemical room corner, a spill pallet or a trailer bay where a seven foot circle will not, and 124 inches of column keeps a dosing pump's suction flooded and gives a transfer line real head. The cost is reach, since the manway is over ten feet up, and wind, since a tall empty shell needs strapping. The rated chemistry for the resin is listed below; check the liquid at its concentration in the chemical compatibility database, because weight rating and chemical resistance are separate properties. Full, the tank loads a 64 inch circle to 24,561 pounds at the rating: a slab in full contact under the whole floor, level enough that the tank stands plumb. The tank sizing calculator matches the volume to feed rate and delivery interval, and the tank sizing guide covers the reserve to carry.
The 64 x 124 inch mold and the low alternatives
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1840000N45 (this tank) | 1,550 | 64 x 124 in | 335 lb |
| 1840000C26 | 1,550 | 64 x 124 in | 335 lb |
| 1840000N48 | 1,550 | 64 x 124 in | 305 lb |
| 1770000C34 (low profile) | 1,500 | 86 x 72 in | 260 lb |
| 32118 (low profile) | 1,600 | 86 x 71 in | 264 lb |
The C26 is the same shell with a factory bulkhead outlet, and the N48 is a lighter resin option at 305 pounds. The low profile tanks put the same volume under a six foot ceiling on an 86 inch base, 52 inches shorter and lighter: the 1770000C34 at 1,500 gallons with the chemical wall, and the 32118 at 1,600 gallons with the lighter liquid wall. Tall when the floor decides, low when the ceiling does.

Openings, instruments, containment
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 124 inches up; vent outside on caustic, acid and hypochlorite, fill through a dip tube to the floor.
- Outlet: specify the bulkhead fitting for the chemical when ordering; a flexible transition, an expansion joint, and a valve supported off the floor.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Choose the level sender for the chemical with the level gauge selection guide; at 124 inches a hydrostatic sender at the outlet keeps operators off the ladder. Strap the empty tank with two bands over the top to anchors in the slab, and inspect above the liquid line, in the vapor headspace, where a tall polyethylene wall fails first. For containment, a 64 inch tank fits a standard spill pallet, and the Snyder Captor 110 percent containment comparison covers when a double wall tank is the cleaner answer.
Turnover and changeover
Fifteen hundred gallons is six totes or a partial tanker, on a schedule set by the feed rate; size the schedule so the tank turns over before the chemical degrades. Mount the dosing pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, put a union and a check valve in the line, and give the vent a line routed away from the pump's electrical gear. When the tank changes product, drain, rinse, drain again, and let it dry before the new fill; residue from the last product is the usual cause of a cloudy first batch.
Jobs it is bought for
Hypochlorite, caustic and coagulant bulk storage at small water and wastewater systems, acid and inhibitor feed at cooling towers, polymer make-down on a skid, and reagent storage in a narrow chemical room. One chemical per tank, labeled, manway closed against vapor loss, and the tank out of direct sun where the chemical is light-sensitive.
What the carrier needs from you
At 124 inches long on the deck the 1840000N45 ships as oversize freight (NMFC 156600) at a lane rate; the freight cost estimator gives the flatbed number for your ZIP, and the listed price is before freight. A liftgate and two people handle 335 pounds. Strap it before it is filled, water-fill to the manway with a hold, then drain and dry before the first chemical delivery. Note the pad height and the outlet height on the site plan while the tape is out; the next pipe run will need both.
