Outlet and manway
- Outlet: tell us the liquid when ordering and the bulkhead fitting is matched to it; a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, an expansion joint, and the valve supported off the slab. A fire reserve gets a large outlet, specified when the tank is ordered.
- Access: 24 inch threaded, vented manway, 242 inches up, reached from a fixed platform with a rail.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
The vent on a tank this size is sized for the fastest of the pump-out rate, the fill rate and a sun-heated headspace, not left at the manway default, and it carries a screen. Put a sender on it that reads at ground level, so the number never needs a ladder. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe; with this much water in it the body freezes from the top, slowly, without harm.
