Where it goes

A tank as wide as it is tall, eight feet each way, is the easy one to place: it stands under the eave of a barn or a packing shed, inside a pump house or a utility room, under a shade structure at a nursery, or on a small pad beside a well. The buyers are growers and vineyards with frost and irrigation water, dairies and processors with wash water, a grower taking liquid fertilizer by the tanker, a small utility with a treatment chemical, and rural properties with a water reserve. A wide base and a short column give a low centre of gravity, so it takes little strapping, though in seismic country it is anchored before the first fill as a matter of code. The floor carries the load: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the 96 inch circle takes all 20,850 lb of water and more at the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Two inches suits a transfer pump, a dosing pump and a hose fill; for fast gravity draining of a sprayer, ask us about the outlet at order. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and carry the first valve on a support off the pad.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from a step. Wide enough for a fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order; a liquid heavier than 1.5 times water needs a heavy duty wall, not this tank.
