The Snyder 32559 is a 2,500 gallon black high density linear polyethylene water tank, 96 inches across and 90 inches tall, that weighs 343 pounds empty. Snyder molds this shell at more than one wall thickness, and the 32559 is one of the heavy ones: 43 pounds more resin than the 32747 in the same mold, for a tank that will stand outdoors in the sun for a long time or carry a pump suction and a valve at its outlet. Reading the weight column
Rotationally molded tanks in one family share a mold; the empty weight is the wall thickness. A heavier water wall does three things: it resists sagging under 20,850 pounds of water when the pad is less than perfect, it holds its shape through decades of thermal cycling, and it takes the side load of hard pipe at the outlet. The 32747 and 32561 are the standard walls at about 300 pounds; the WG62 is the heaviest, 84 pounds more than this tank for 100 more gallons and 1 more inch of height. Pipe the outlet through a flexible transition anyway; even a heavy wall grows and shrinks with the day. Level is a sight tube off the outlet or a float gauge through the 26 inch manway. Where the tank feeds a pressure pump, mount the pump below the outlet so it primes by gravity, put a check valve and a union in the line, and support the valve off the pad rather than the bulkhead.
