The Snyder Industries 2600 Gallon Horizontal Leg Tank is a haul-grade transport tank molded from high density linear polyethylene in white, carrying a 1.9 specific gravity rating that lets it move dense agricultural and industrial liquids a water-only tank cannot. Built on the standard horizontal leg-tank profile, it runs 155 inches long by 82 inches wide and stands 70 inches tall, putting the full footprint at 82.0 x 155.0 inches. Size that 82-inch width and 155-inch length against your trailer deck or skid frame before ordering, since the width plus any mounting affects how the loaded tank fits your transport and whether it triggers width permitting on the road. The low, stable horizontal leg geometry is built for nurse-tank and field-transport duty.

Will it hold your load?

Capacity is 2600 gallons. Filled with water the contents weigh 21,684 pounds, and the tank is rated to carry contents up to 41,200 pounds, the ceiling the 1.9 specific gravity rating supports. That spread is the whole story: water sits well under the rating, but a dense fertilizer or acid blend climbs toward the upper limit fast. Multiply your liquid's specific gravity by the full water weight to confirm you stay inside the 41,200-pound rating before you fill. There is no heavier-duty step-up beyond this 1.9 SG version, so size your load within that ceiling rather than counting on a beefier tank. Keep shipping weight separate from operating weight, too: LTL freight moves the empty tank, while the up-to-41,200-pound figure is the loaded contents you'll be hauling. The Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide walk that math step by step, and the technical drawing on this page shows the tank dimensions and leg layout for your mounting plan.

Chemical compatibility

This is an HDLPE tank carrying a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is what opens it to heavy chemical service rather than water alone. Match fitting and gasket material to the gasket class your chemical falls in, and always verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and operating temperature before committing a load. The pairings sort into three tiers: EPDM gaskets cover the salts, glycols, bases, and nitrogen liquids such as DEF at 32.5% (316SS fittings), urea solution at 50% (PP/PVC), calcium chloride at 40% (PVC), aluminum sulfate at 50% (PVC), ferric chloride at 50% (PVC), ethylene glycol (PVC), and potassium hydroxide saturated (PVC); Viton gaskets handle the oxidizers and strong acids such as sulfuric acid at 98% (CPVC fittings), hydrochloric acid at 37% (PVC), phosphoric acid at 85% (PVC), hydrofluoric acid at 48% (PP/PVC), hydrogen peroxide at 50% (PVC), and sodium hypochlorite below 16.5% (PVC); and Aflas is reserved for peracetic acid at 30% (316SS). The list also covers acetic acid at 60%, magnesium and sodium salt solutions, glycols, and ozonated water up to 10 PPM. See the full list and per-chemical details on our chemical compatibility resource.

The mistake to avoid

The number that ends jobs on a leg tank this size is the contents weight, not the gallons. Operators size by volume, fill with a dense fertilizer blend, and find the loaded weight has blown past the trailer or axle rating long before the tank itself is stressed. Run your actual liquid's specific gravity against the 41,200-pound rating first. The second trap is plumbing: do not assume default fittings handle what you are hauling. Aggressive acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, phosphoric, hydrofluoric) all call for Viton gaskets with CPVC or PVC fittings, not standard EPDM. And DEF and peracetic acid are the metals exception where neither PVC nor PP is the answer, both need 316 stainless steel fittings (EPDM gasket for DEF, Aflas for peracetic).

This horizontal leg tank ships by LTL freight, quoted live to your ZIP from the nearest Snyder plant among Chowchilla, CA, Lincoln, NE, and Marked Tree, AR. If you are spec'ing a fertilizer or transport fleet, our guides on applicator and leg tanks for fertilizer and fertilizer-blend tank stratification cover the field details that keep a horizontal tank running on spec.
