Where it goes

This is the shape for a liquid that has to live indoors under a low ceiling: a treatment chemical in a basement feed room at a water or wastewater plant, a process solution in a short bay, a fertilizer or wash water tank under a shed roof, a reserve in a container or trailer mounted station. The wide base and the 97 inch height give it a low centre of gravity, so it needs less strapping than a tall slim tank of the same volume, though it is still anchored before the first fill where wind or seismic codes apply. Snyder moulds this shell in four versions, two colours and two wall grades, and this is the black standard wall for liquids up to 1.5 times the weight of water. The floor carries the load: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the 102 inch circle takes all 25,020 lb of water and more at the rating, and a wide tank on a pad with one low side loads that side. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Two inches suits a dosing or transfer pump and a hose fill; if you want to drain 3,000 gallons in a hurry, say so at order and we will talk about the outlet. Under a 97 inch column the pump sits low and close with a short straight suction. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and support the first valve off the pad.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from a step. Wide enough for a fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order; a liquid heavier than 1.5 times water needs the heavy duty version rated 1.9, not this tank.
