Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.5, or 37,530 pounds of contents against 25,020 for water, which covers brine, fertilizer solutions and dilute treatment chemicals as well as water. It ships with a 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet fitted at the factory under an 18 inch threaded, vented manway, and it carries Snyder's 3 year warranty. Narrow base, tall column
A 90 inch circle fits where the 96 and 102 inch 3,000 gallon tanks will not, and 127 inches of height keeps a pump suction flooded with a tall column and gives a transfer line real head. The cost is reach, since the manway is over ten feet up, and wind, since a tall empty shell needs strapping. - Outlet: 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the sidewall, factory installed; a PVC or CPVC adapter, an expansion joint, and a valve supported off the slab, with the nut re-checked after the first full fill.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 127 inches up; a tied-off ladder for inspection, a hydrostatic sender at the outlet for level.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
A 3 inch outlet fills a tanker or feeds a transfer pump quickly, which is why this shell is specified where liquid moves in bulk. Strap the empty tank with two bands over the top to anchors in the slab, fill through a dip tube so dense liquid does not splash the lid, and keep the vent clear so a fast draw cannot pull a vacuum on the wall. Inspect above the liquid line, in the vapor headspace, where a tall polyethylene wall fails first.
Typical duty
Liquid fertilizer at a co-op, brine at a softener plant, dilute treatment chemicals in a narrow chemical room, and bulk water where a heavier wall is wanted outdoors. In a freezing climate a brine or fertilizer solution expands against a wall not designed for ice; house the tank or keep it above freezing, and insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first run of pipe.
