Chemical compatibility

As shipped at that rating, two services run cleanly with the right wetted hardware: diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) at 32.5 percent concentration on 316 stainless fittings with EPDM gaskets, and urea solution at 50 percent on PP or PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets. Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank
Several chemicals are storable in this resin family but exceed the 1.4 SG rating of this 330-gallon tote and require a higher-rated tank. A 1.5 SG vessel covers acetic acid (PP/PVC, EPDM), aluminum sulfate (PVC, EPDM), calcium chloride (PVC, EPDM), ferrous sulfate (PVC, EPDM), magnesium chloride (PVC, EPDM), sodium carbonate (PVC, EPDM), and ozonated water (PVC, EPDM). A 1.9 SG vessel is required for ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, ferric chloride, ferric sulfate, polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate, potassium hydroxide, sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium thiosulfate, and zinc orthophosphate - all on PVC or PP with EPDM. Watch the gasket on the oxidizers and strong acids: hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and sodium hypochlorite all need Viton rather than EPDM (sulfuric on CPVC fittings), and peracetic acid needs an Aflas gasket on 316 stainless. EPDM will not survive those bleach and acid services.
