Chemical compatibility
This is an XLPE tank with a 1.5 specific gravity rating - it is not rated for every density, so always match your chemical's specific gravity to the 1.5 ceiling. At 1.5 SG and within the concentrations shown, this tank is compatible with Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets), Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC, EPDM), Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC, EPDM), DEF (32.5%, 316SS fittings, EPDM), Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC, EPDM), Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC, EPDM), Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC, EPDM), Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM), and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM, PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets; see the Chemical Compatibility Database for ozonated water service limits). Note the DEF outlier: it is the only compatible chemical here that calls for 316SS stainless fittings, not the PVC or PP hardware the rest use - do not default a DEF install to plastic fittings. Specify the listed fitting and gasket materials, not whatever ships by default.
Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank
Several common chemicals exceed what a 1.5 SG tank is rated to hold and require a heavier 1.9 SG tank instead: Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrofluosilicic Acid (PP/PVC fittings, Viton gaskets), Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS fittings), and Sodium Thiosulfate. Do not store these in this 1.5 SG tank. The biggest mistake on a cone-bottom chemical install is matching the chemical to the tank but mismatching the gasket - and Hydrofluosilicic Acid is exactly that trap, requiring Viton gaskets rather than the EPDM the rest use.
