The Snyder Industries 5440000N46 holds 3,900 gallons in a black crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) cone bottom shell, 90 inches in diameter and 180 inches tall, weighing 1,100 lb empty. The standard wall is rated for liquids up to 1.5 specific gravity, so it takes water, liquid fertilizer, DEF and most brines, and Snyder sets the service limit at 100 F. An 18 inch threaded vented manway sits on top. Black resin keeps sunlight out, slowing algae in stored water and protecting light sensitive products. The cone drains the tank to its lowest point, so nothing is stranded on a flat floor when the tank runs dry.

Built for a working yard
A black cone tank of this size usually lives outside at a farm, an ag dealer or a plant, where it is filled from a truck and drawn down through a valve at the cone. Black is the colour you want outside if the liquid can grow algae or does not like light. The trade off is that you cannot see the level, so put a gauge on the order. Work out the support next: 3,900 gallons x 8.34 lb = 32,526 lb of water, and 3,900 x 8.34 x 1.5 = 48,789 lb at the 1.5 limit. A stand puts that on a few legs, so the pad has to be level, solid and wider than the stand. Height is 180 inches of tank plus the stand plus room to work over the manway, so check overhead wires before the truck arrives.
