The Snyder Industries 3900 Gallon XLPE Heavy Duty Cone Bottom Tank is built for the storage and gravity-fed discharge of aggressive process chemicals. Molded in black crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) with a 1.9 specific gravity rating, this 3,900-gallon cone bottom tank stands 180 inches (15 feet) tall on a 90.0 x 90.0 inch footprint and is engineered to drain fully through its cone for dosing, batching, and slurry handling where settling matters. The 1.9 SG wall is the heaviest-duty XLPE rating in the line, so a buyer storing dense chemistry does not need to look any further up the range.

Will it work for your application?

This is a true cone bottom tank, so it must sit in a matching steel stand rather than free-stand on the floor; confirm your stand before you order using the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix. The XLPE wall carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, meaning it is rated to hold contents up to 1.9 times the weight of water. Filled with water alone the tank holds about 32,526 lb; at its maximum rated 1.9 SG the contents weigh up to 61,799 lb, so the stand and slab must be specified for that loaded weight, not for plain water. Crosslinked polyethylene resists stress cracking and chemical attack better than standard HDPE on demanding duty - the trade-off between the two resins is covered in Snyder XLPE vs HDPE: When Crosslinking Matters. At 15 feet of overall tank height, plan door, ceiling, and crane clearance for the tank plus its loaded stand before delivery day. For help confirming volume against your batch and turnover needs, use the Tank Sizing Calculator and the Tank Sizing Guide, and see the technical drawing on this page for dimensional detail.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded in XLPE and rated to 1.9 specific gravity, which qualifies it for many high-density chemical solutions. Always match your fitting and gasket materials to the chemical, and verify every selection against the manufacturer's chemical-resistance chart at your exact concentration and temperature - the chart is concentration- and temperature-specific, and a fitting or gasket that fails is the most common cause of a leak on an otherwise sound tank. Confirmed compatible chemistries for this XLPE / 1.9 SG tank include:

Most of these chemistries run on PVC fittings with EPDM gaskets, but a few break that pattern and a one-size-fits-all fittings package will fail: DEF requires 316 stainless wetted hardware, urea solution requires polypropylene or PVC, and Hydrofluosilicic Acid is the lone entry calling for Viton gaskets. Match the wetted hardware to the specific chemical, then browse the full Chemical Compatibility Database before finalizing your package.

The mistake to avoid

The single biggest error on a tank this size is under-rating the stand and foundation for the loaded weight. At 1.9 SG the contents alone can reach 61,799 lb - design the steel stand and slab for that figure, not for plain water. Second, don't assume a fitting or gasket is fine because the tank wall is; the resin and the wetted hardware are rated separately, and many of the chemistries above demand PVC, polypropylene, 316 stainless, or Viton specifically. Selecting the wrong gauge for high-density or chemically aggressive contents is also worth a look - see Tank Level Gauge Selection for Chemical Service. If your install needs secondary containment, review Snyder Captor Plus 110% Containment vs UL-142 Standards.

This tank ships LTL freight from the Snyder plant in Lincoln, NE - the only ship-point for this model, so a buyer far from Nebraska should run the numbers before committing. Freight is quoted live to your ZIP code - get your figure on the Freight Cost Estimator or call 866-418-1777 to talk through stand pairing, fitting layout, and delivery. List price is shown above and does not include freight.
