The 5,100 gallon tank that fits under a 96 inch ceiling
The Snyder 32394 holds the same 5,100 gallons as its tall sibling, the 32384, and does it in 93 inches of height by spreading the water across a 142 inch diameter. It is the tank for the pole barn, the lean-to and the equipment shed with a low header, and for any site where a 159 inch cylinder would catch the wind. Green high density linear polyethylene, rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, so water and nothing heavier.

The trade you are making
Low profile means a wide floor. The 32394 wants a level pad 142 inches across with the whole circle supported, and full it puts 42,534 pounds on that pad. The concrete pad sizing guide gives the ACI 360R-10 framework for the slab. In return, the tank is the easiest 5,000 gallon vessel to live with: the 26 inch manway is reachable from a short step, the tank can be strapped down without a tall frame, and the empty shell is stable in a gust. If you have not settled the gallons yet, the tank sizing calculator will do that before you pour concrete.
Snyder's 5,000 gallon shapes, side by side
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32394 (this tank) | 5,100 | 142 x 93 in | 876 lb |
| 32384, tall | 5,100 | 102 x 159 in | 876 lb |
| 32368 | 5,000 | 119 x 116 in | 805 lb |
| 32429 | 6,500 | 120 x 152 in | 1,184 lb |
Read the middle column and picture the roof. The 32394 stands 66 inches shorter than the 32384 and is 40 inches wider; both weigh 876 pounds. If the ceiling allows 116 inches, the 32368 is a narrower 119 inches across and 71 pounds lighter for 100 fewer gallons. Go to 6,500 gallons and the 32429 is 120 inches across and 152 tall, so a low profile is not on offer at that volume.

Fittings as shipped
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, low on the sidewall.
- Access: 26 inch threaded, vented manway on top.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
A short tank gives a pump less head to work with, so if the 32394 gravity-feeds a line, keep that line large and short. Level sensing through the wall is covered in the level gauge selection guide; with only 93 inches of height, an ultrasonic sender on the manway has an easy job.
Typical service
Rural fire reserves are the classic use for a low, wide 5,000 gallon tank, because a fire department connection wants a tank it can reach from the ground; the fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and freeze protection for exactly this. Under a commercial roof, the same tank aggregates rainwater, grey water and condensate for reuse, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article. The tank sizing guide turns 5,100 gallons into days of supply for a house, a herd or a process line.
Getting it to the site
The 32394 is 142 inches across, which makes it oversize freight (NMFC 156600) on a flatbed with a lane rate rather than a class rate. Price that lane for your ZIP in the freight cost estimator; the listed price is before freight. Before it goes into service, fill it in stages and watch the pad and the fittings as the hydrostatic test methodology guide describes. Plan the unloading: 876 pounds of wide, awkward shell needs a forklift with long forks or a crew of several.
